Kenya is a unique ornithological paradise. Bird watchers can come across plain birds, wading birds, forest birds and sea birds. This package will concentrate on giving the lovers of birds an opportunity to search for their favorite bird species.

Itinerary

Upon arrival, pick up and transfer to Fairview Hotel.
Overnight Fairview Hotel (BB)

After breakfast check out and proceed to Lake Naivasha arriving in time for lunch/.
Later in the afternoon proceed for a bird walk at the lodge.
Several bird species have been recored around Lake Naivasha. These species include and not limited to the White Pelican, Black Crake, Kingfisher,Long-tailed and Great Cormorants, Green Woodhoopoe, White-headed Barbet, Bearded woodpecker,Bee-eater,Verreaux’s Eagle Owl hunting along the lakeshore acacias and many other resident bird species.

Today you will set out with your picnic lunch boxes to Hell’s Gate National Park.
Over 100 bird species have been recorded here and other larger wildliffe. These include; Verreaux’s Eagles, augur buzzard, and swifts. African buffalo, zebra, eland, hartebeest, Thomson’s gazelle, and baboons are also common. The park is also home to klipspringer antelope and Chanler’s mountain reedbuck.

You can take a break by hiring a bicycle and cycle inside the park.

After breakfast, have a short bird walk or relax a little then check out and proceed to Lake Nakuru National Park.
Arrive in Lake Nakuru National park in time for lunch. Lunch at Lion Hill lodge.

1500 hrs Afternoon game drive. This is a chance to visit a unique sanctuary catering for a sizable number of the endangered rhinocerous and the Rothschild giraffe. Lake Nakuru National Park is situated in the Rift Valley region of Kenya and comprises of the blue-green Lake Nakuru, bushy grasslands and yellow acacia woodlands, the Great Rift Valley Escarpments hills and ridges. The park’s swamps and marshes are home to water birds including the famed pink flamingo and around 450 terrestrial bird species. The buffalo, white rhino, zebra, giraffe, hyena and over 56 mammal species are in abundance. Your stay is in world class lodges such as the spectacular Sarova Lion Hill Lodge or Lake Nakuru lodge. Alternatively you have the option of pitching in special campsites namely Reedbuck, Nyuki, Nyati, Rhino, Soysambu, Chui and Naishi. Public Campsites at Bacpakers and Makalia equally provide additional camping options.

After breakfast , check out and proceed to Lake Baringo arriving in time for lunch at Lake Baringo Country Club.
Here chances of encountering Slender-tailed Nightjar, Heuglin’s Courser, Spotted Thick-knee, Northern Masked, little, Jackson’s and vitelline masked weaver, bristle-crowned starling, Hemprich and Jackson’s Hornbills, Mouse- coloured Penduline Tit, Brown-tailed Rock Chat, Verreaux’s Eagle Owl, White-faced Scops Owl, Beautiful Sunbird and much more are very high.

After breakfast , check out and proceed to Lake Baringo arriving in time for lunch at Lake Baringo Country Club.

Today you will be proceeding to Kenyas only remnant in Kenya of the unique Guineo-Congolian forest ecosystem, the park offers unique wildlife and scenic beauty. For bird and butterfly watchers, this is the place to visit. The forest is home to over 400 species of butterflies, about 300 bird species like Snowy-headed and Blue-shouldered Robbin-chats and many more.27 species of snakes. The park also supports more than 350 species of trees and 7 primate species including the endangered DeBrazza monkey, black and white colobus monkey and vervet monkey. Spend the day exploring the rain forest in search of birds and primates.

After breakfast, check out and proceed to Masai Mara.
Arrive at Kenya’s most populous park, the Masai Mara Game Reserve in time for lunch at Mara Sopa Lodge / Mara Simba Lodge. Later proceed with game en-route to Mara Simba Lodge, Masai Mara.
Masai mara has migrants, well over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. Although July, August and September are the months when the Mara plains are filled with migrating wildebeest and zebra, there is also resident wildlife year round. The famous Masai tribesmen live within the dispersal area of the game reserve.

MASAI MARA

Morning and afternoon game drives in the Masai Mara

Day 11 :
DEPART

After a short morning game drive we return to thelodge for breakfast, check out and proceed to Nairob. Farewell late lunch will be served at a selected restaurant. Later drop off at the airport for your flight back home.

Frequently asked Questions

How fit do I need to be to do a safari?

Any person can do these safaris, even if you do not have any previous experience. You should be aware of what to expect and mentally prepare for it. Then, as long as you will to, you can.

What about battery charging and hot shower facilities?

Yes, you can charge batteries en route. Charger should be brought. There are hot shower facilities as well. You may have to pay certain amount for both. Also, hot water facility could be free at lower elevation.

Are there ATMs on safari camps?

No. There are no ATMs. You will have to draw enough cash in Nairobi. There are a number of ATMs in these cities.

Is there internet access?

Yes. Internet can be accessed in most places. Sometimes, there might be some technical problems. Internet deep in the jungle is not as fast as you are used to and at times you can just lose connection.
