Overview

This is a flying safari which is ideal for those who don’t have much time on their hands. Solo travelers will find that this type of safari is also a money saver as you don’t have to bear the cost of an entire seven seater safari van – you just fly to Tsavo and share your safari drives with others in a seven seater safari van.

Itinerary

At 0630 hrs, check in at Wilson Airport for your flight to Tsavo West departing at 0820 hrs. You will be met at the airstrip upon arrival and transferred to your lodge, animal viewing enroute. In the afternoon, after lunch, enjoy a safari drive in the Tsavo West National Park.

Day 2 :
Tsavo West

A full day in Tsavo West, with morning and evening game drives. Tsavo West National Park is a world renown wildlife viewing spot. Here you lay eyes – and lenses - on the almost extinct basra reed warbler, corncrake, buffalos, leopards, cheetah, lions, hippos, rhino and elephant, crocodiles, vervet monkeys, antelope, baboons and giraffes. This park is also a birdwatcher’s paradise and the range of flora is truly captivating: vast acacia dot the woodland and grassland connected to the scrubland through riverine vegetation. Rocky ridges in the park are a major geo-physical attraction added together to the Mzima Springs, the source of Mombasa’s water. These springs are recharged daily with hundreds of millions of litres of crystal clear water by underground streams emanating from Chyulu Hills. At Mzima, you will view all sorts of animals gathering for a drink particularly in the dry season. You will be able to spot the crocodiles and the hippo.

All meals and overnight at Kilaguni Serena Lodge

After breakfast at you camp, you will be transferred to the airstrip for your flight back to Nairobi departing at 08.30 AM, to arrive Nairobi at 09.50 O’clock

How fit do I need to be to do a safari?

Any person can do these safaris, even if you do not have any previous experience. You should be aware of what to expect and mentally prepare for it. Then, as long as you will to, you can.

What about battery charging and hot shower facilities?

Yes, you can charge batteries en route. Charger should be brought. There are hot shower facilities as well. You may have to pay certain amount for both. Also, hot water facility could be free at lower elevation.

Are there ATMs on safari camps?

No. There are no ATMs. You will have to draw enough cash in Nairobi. There are a number of ATMs in these cities.

Is there internet access?

Yes. Internet can be accessed in most places. Sometimes, there might be some technical problems. Internet deep in the jungle is not as fast as you are used to and at times you can just lose connection.
