Overview

Places to visit: Nairobi and Masai Mara. This flying package takes you to Masai Mara, Kenyas’ most famous and finest game sanctuary. The Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is difficult to believe: over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. You will easily see the Big Five- lion, rhino, buffalo, leopard, and elephant. Not to mention numerous plain animals.

It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savanna- lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena and vultures. The famous Maasai tribesmen live within the dispersal area of the game reserve.

Itinerary

Pick up from the hotel in Nairobi or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and transfer to the Wilson Airport. Check in for flight to Masai Mara one hour before departure time. Morning flight to Mara departs at 1000 hrs and Afternoon flight at 1500 hrs. On arrival at Masai Mara, you will be met by a driver guide and transfer to Mara Simba Lodge or similar. After lunch at the lodge, have an early afternoon leisure, before going for an afternoon game drive, from 1600 hrs till dusk.

Maasai Mara Game Reserve is Africa’s greatest wildlife and the world’s most famous safari destination, located in Kenya. The Mara is famous for the Great Wildebeest migration - 8th wonder of the world - , roaming lions and of course the hospitable Maasai people. The 1,510 sq km reserve has a habitat ranging from riverine forests to grasslands doted with acacia tree famed for being leopard resting points. The Mara is part of the ecosystem that includes the equally famous Serengeti of Tanzania. The wildlife variety is truly overwhelming: Thomson’s gazelle, zebra, black rhino, buffalo, elephant, leopard, lion, fox, jackals, impalla and hippopotami in addition to the abundant bird species.

The 8th wonder of the world occurs annually in the Mara - the annual migration of millions of wildebeest, Thomson Gazelles and zebra from the Tanzanian Serengeti in search of water and pasture. If you are lucky you can spot an endangered black rhino. The famous Maasai tribesmen live within the dispersal area of the game reserve in the surrounding local ranches.

Day 2 :
MASAI MARA

0630 hrs - early morning game drive in a safari vehicle with pop up roof. After the morning game drive, return to the lodge for breakfast. Or opt for a Morning game drive which usually starts at 1000 hrs till midday. After lunch at the lodge you will have an early afternoon leisure. At 1600 hrs proceed for an afternoon game drive till dusk.

Dinner and overnight at Mara Simba Lodge or Similar

0630 hrs -Wake up and proceed for an early morning game drive or proceed for a game drive after an early breakfast.

OR

Take the opportunity to fly over the Mara in a Hot air Balloon provided at an extra cost. The balloon package includes a champagne breakfast in the wild. Viewing abundant game afloat a balloon is a memorable experience.

Late breakfast will be provided and later transfer to Airstrip for your flight to Nairobi. On arrival at Wilson Airport at 1215 hrs, a driver guide will meet you ready to transfer you to your Nairobi hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to catch a flight back home .

No. There are no ATMs. You will have to draw enough cash in Nairobi. There are a number of ATMs in these cities.

Yes. Internet can be accessed in most places. Sometimes, there might be some technical problems. Internet deep in the jungle is not as fast as you are used to and at times you can just lose connection.
