Itinerary
0930 Hrs, Drive to Lake Nakuru in time for lunch at Lake Nakuru lodge. At 1600 hrs proceed for an afternoon game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park. Lake Nakuru National Park is situated in the Rift Valley region of Kenya and comprises of the blue-green Lake Nakuru, bushy grasslands and yellow acacia woodlands, the Great Rift Valley Escarpments hills and ridges. The park’s swamps and marshes are home to water birds including the famed pink flamingo and around 450 terrestrial bird species. The bufallo, white rhino, zebra, girrafe, hyena and over 56 mammal species are in abundance. Your stay is in world class lodges such as the spectacular Sarova Lion Hill Lodge or Lake Nakuru lodge. Alternatively you have the option of pitching in special campsites namely Reedbuck, Nyuki, Nyati, Rhino, Soysambu, Chui and Naishi. Public Campsites at Bacpakers and Makalia equally provide additional camping options.

0730 hrs- Drive to via the Great Rift Valley to arrive at Masai Mara in time for lunch at Mara Sopa Lodge. 1600 hrs- go for an afternoon game drive till dusk. Maasai Mara Game Reserve is Africa’s greatest wildlife and the world’s most famous safari destination, located in Kenya. The Mara is famous for the Great Wildebeest migration - 8th wonder of the world - , roaming lions and of course the hospitable Maasai people. The 1,510 sq km reserve has a habitat ranging from riverine forests to grasslands doted with acacia tree famed for being leopard resting points. The Mara is part of the ecosystem that includes the equally famous Serengeti of Tanzania. The wildlife variety is truly overwhelming: Thomson’s gazelle, zebra, black rhino, buffalo, elephant, leopard, lion, fox, jackals, impalla and hippopotami in addition to the abundant bird species.
The 8th wonder of the world occurs annually in the Mara - the annual migration of millions of wildebeest, Thomson Gazelles and zebra from the Tanzanian Serengeti in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the Savannah - lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena and vultures.
If photography is your prime interest then an extension of your safari will mostly reward your quest for the perfect wildlife shot. So captivating is the natural beauty of the savanna, scrubs, tree and cloud shadows not forgetting the Mara River and a myriad of seasonal rivelets some hosting the Nile crocodiles and the hippopotami. If you are lucky you can spot an endangered black rhino. The famous Maasai tribesmen live within the dispersal area of the game reserve in the surrounding local ranches.

0700 Hrs. After breakfast check out and drive to Amboseli National park. Lunch will be offered at flame tree restaurant or have a packed lunch before proceeding to Amboseli National park. On arrival at Amboseli game drive will be provided en route to Amboseli Sopa Lodge. Amboseli sits on the lower slopes of mighty Mount Kilimanjaro - Africa’s highest - whose peak lies accross the border in Tanzania. The safari guarantees a vantage experience inside one of Africa’s vast ecosystem spreading across the Kenya-Tanzania border alongside the great Rift Valley. The local Maasai and their renown hospitality are a must meet together with the conspicuous swamps, some of them protected, that easily make this park one of the best wildlife viewing experiences in the world.
The animal pictures arising against the dramatic backdrop of the mountain will thrill the photography enthusiast. Amboseli National Park is renowned for its huge elephant herds. Actually, the park is one the best places in Africa to get really close to free-raging elephants according to most elephants viewing enthusiasts. You will also see buffalo, black rhino, zebra, wildebeest and other plain animals. It’s an adventure identifying the over 40 types of raptors in the park and over 400 bird species such as the hannerkops, crakes, kingfishers and pelicans. This is not just a walk in the park but a discovery through the park!

0630 hrs - early morning game drive at Amboseli National park. Return to the lodge for breakfast. You spend the rest of the morning at leisure. After lunch at the lodge you proceed at 1530 hrs for an afternoon game drive till dusk.

0800 Hrs. After breakfast, check out and drive to Namanga border. Clear with Immigration before proceeding to Arusha. Lunch will be served at Impala Hotel, Arusha, at 1200 hrs. You thereafter depart for Ngorongoro Conservation Area at 1400 hrs. You arrive in time for dinner at the lodge. The lodge sits on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater from where you get awesome views of the collapsed volcano.

After breakfast you depart for a day tour of the crater. This area’s main attraction is the Ngorongoro Crater, fondly known as “Africa’s Garden of Eden”. A candidate for the new seven wonders of the world, this massive crater holds it own in that category. Being the world’s largest unbroken caldera, Ngorongoro is home to over 25,000 animals. It is considered one of the best game viewing spots in the world with a chance to see the big five, zebras and wildebeests. The crater holds almost every individual species of wildlife in East Africa including the extremely rare and critically endangered Black Rhino. You will have packed picnic lunch on the crater floor.

After breakfast, depart for Lake Manyara National Park to arrive in time for lunch at your lodge. 1600 hrs- you go for an evening game drive in Lake Manyara National Park. Famous for its breathtaking show of flamingos, this park also host to the very rare tree-climbing lions. This is the only other location in the world where you can encounter these elusive lions. Add the over 400 species of birds, Big Five, blue monkeys, dik-dik, gazelle, hippo, giraffe, impala among others and this 330 sq. km park is a game lover and birdwatchers paradise. You will spend the night at Lake Manyara Sopa Lodge. The lodge is perched on the edge of the Mto Wa Mbu escarpment and has great views of the Great Rift Valley and Lake Manyara itself.
